Scarce 1917 Halloween postcard depicting an Art Nouveau-inspired pierrot, or clown, and bearing an invitation to a masquerade and fancy dress ball being held by I. Irwin of Castle House, New York! Schmid’s Banjo Orchestra was playing at the ball, which was held from 9 to midnight on Hallowe’en night in the Odd Fellows Temple. Prizes in gold were offered for best costume, and two silk American flags were given away as best waltz prizes. A desirable holiday or fraternal collectible in excellent condition!
